A lovely match for this wine is traditional homemade lasagna or sauteed Portobello mushrooms with rosemary and garlic.
Yalumba’s everyday reds tend to have a brightness and approachability about them, and this latest Cab doesn’t disappoint. The nose is a lovely combo of currant and red berry backed by graphite, eucalyptus and large helpings of spice. The palate feels a touch warm on the alcohol front. It’s bone-dry and cinched by raspy tannins, the fruit taking a back seat to lovely layers of texture and tannin. An excellent intro to South Aussie Cabernet. Drink now–2028.
